South Texas Health System recognizes the valuable relationship between our facilities and the news media. We seek to balance this relationship between our ethical and legal responsibilities, as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), to safeguard privacy (by preventing embarrassment, discomfort or exploitation) and the responsibility of news outlets to report matters of public interest.

South Texas Health System is committed to assisting news outlets whenever possible through sincere cooperation and the accurate and prompt delivery of appropriate, relevant information.

Connecting With Our Facilities

Media inquiries may be directed to South Texas Health System’s Public Information Officer during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After regular hours and on weekends, we’re on call to handle any requests.
